Mark and Dan led an open discussion as part of Cornwall RIBA’s training for the Cornwall Council Councillors on the Planning Committee.
We were invited to explain our approach to ensure quality in Cornish architecture and to promote a more sustainable planning system.
“At the heart of the National Planning Policy Framework is a presumption in favour of sustainable development, which should be seen as a golden thread running through both plan-making and decision-taking.”
P4, NATIONAL PLANNING POLIC Y FRAMEWORK :2012.
Mark and Dan used our Design Process diagrams [charting simple issues to complex resolution!] to illustrate how all designs proposed to the Committee should undergo a rigorous process to ensure their sustainability, not just in Ecological but also in Social and Economic aspects.
